Well it has been a long time coming but sanatizer & dbltap let me know that SlingPlayer is now officially out of beta. Nothing much seems to have changed with the official release as far as I hear but they are still charging $29.99 for it. They do have a free 30 day trial you can pick up OTA by heading to mobile.slingmedia.com .

When Verizon and Alltel announced their acquisition I thought it would be the end of Alltel as a separate entity. On the other hand during that deal Verizon was required to divest 91 Cellular Market Areas (CMAs) that will continue to operate as Alltel until they are sold. I thought at first that these 91 markets were kind of stuck in limbo but it looks like Alltel is not planning on staying dormant.

Now this is something I would like to see on my BlackBerry. NewTeeVee found from a few sources that RIM may be launching a TV service for BlackBerry. It would let you pay for an unlimited monthly subscription service to watch TV.

Nothing really crazy new in this latest review of the 9630 by the BoyGenius. On the other hand if you just cant wait for your 9630 fix then head on over to this link and check it out! The 9630 might just be the device that convinces me to leave AT&T… So what do you think? I love my Bold and Wi-Fi but a smaller footprint along with a revamped OS is starting to look tempting.

Nikolaus let me know that the Pandora BlackBerry app has been updated to version 1.0.1 from 1.00.00. Not sure what changed but maybe it now supports the 8900.
